Q&A: I just failed my permit test, anyone else?

Question by L♥VE1ANOTH3R: I just failed my permit test, anyone else?
I just came back from waiting at the DMV for 2 hours and wasted $ 40.00 of my mom’s money! You have to answer 25 questions, and your only allowed to get 5 wrong, I failed when I only had one more question left =/…I feel horrible! I came home and just cried, I feel like such an idiot.. Has anyone else failed their permit test or am I the only one!?!…also Im petrified to take it again, having to come out to a waiting room full of people and telling ur mom you failed, after 2 hours and $ 40 isn’t rly fun…the penalty questions are what killed me for ex “if you are accused of drunk driving and you refuse to take a urine or breathalizer test what is ur penalty” or ” If you have had your license for 6 months and you are caught driving 20 miles over the speed limit, bla blah”….ugh life sucks right now? Howabout you?

I understand how you feel. Many years ago I failed my first test too.
I think that helped me to be a better driver, because I had to study
and learn much harder.

I think you will pass your next test very easily, we the Insurance agents won’t be able to much money from you, because you will drive very carefully and will not get any traffic violations or involve in accidents.

Good luck to you.

College attendance and risk-related driving behavior in a national sample of young adults *.: An article from: Journal of Studies on Alcohol

College attendance and risk-related driving behavior in a national sample of young adults *.: An article from: Journal of Studies on Alcohol

This digital document is an article from Journal of Studies on Alcohol, published by Alcohol Research Documentation, Inc. on January 1, 2003. The length of the article is 5519 words. The page length shown above is based on a typical 300-word page. The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Digital Locker immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser.

From the author: Objective: This study examined and sought to explain the relationship between college attendance and indicators of risk-related driving (drinking and driving, seatbelt use) among young adults who participated in the 1999 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse (NHSDA). Method: In-home interview data collected from 11,549 18-25 year olds were analyzed to examine the relationship between full- or part-time college status, drinking and driving and seatbelt use. Logistic regression analyses were conducted to determine whether full- or part-time college attendance would be associated with drinking and driving and seatbelt use when adjusting for demographics and age of onset of alcohol use, and whether these relationships would be explained by place of residence (e.g., dormitory), psychosocial factors (e.g., propensity for risk taking, disapproval of driving after drinking) and past-month heavy drinking. Results: The prevalence of drinking and driving in the past year was highest for full-time college students (34.2%), followed by part-time students (32.8%) and other young adults (27.9%). Full-time students were also more likely to report always wearing a seatbelt as a driver (76.1%) or passenger (70.1%) than were part-time students (71.8%, 68.6%) and other young adults (62.7%, 56.7%). These relationships persisted when adjusting for demographic characteristics and age of onset of alcohol use. The higher level of drinking and driving among full-time students was partially explained by psychosocial factors and past-month heavy drinking, but the higher level of drinking and driving among part-time students was not explained by these variables. The higher levels of seatbelt use among full- and part-time college students were also not explained by place of residence, psychosocial factors or heavy drinking. Conclusions: College students are more likely than other young adults to drink and drive, but are also more likely to wear a seatbelt as a driver or passenger. This pattern of drinking and driving behavior may help to explain similar rates of fatal alcohol-related traffic crashes among college students and other young adults. Additional research is needed to better understand why college students are more likely to drink and drive and wear seatbelts than other young adults in the same age group.

For the people of Massachusetts, what do you think Rep Fagan in regards to his words about sexually abused?

Question by Pink Tresses: For the people of Massachusetts, what do you think Rep Fagan in regards to his words about sexually abused?
children and how he would treat them if we were the defense attorney?

“Fagan, a defense attorney, infuriated victims’ rights advocates during a recent House debate when he said he would “rip apart” 6-year-old victims on the witness stand and “make sure the rest of their life is ruined.”

In a fiery soliloquy on the House floor, Fagan said he’d grill victims so that, “when they’re 8 years old they throw up; when they’re 12 years old, they won’t sleep; when they’re 19 years old, they’ll have nightmares and they’ll never have a relationship with anybody.”

He also went on to refer to mandatory minimum sentances of 20 years if the child is under a certain age as “draconian” Here is the video:

Driving Under the Influence of Children: A Baby Blues Treasury

Driving Under the Influence of Children: A Baby Blues Treasury

"Any parent can understand why Darryl and Wanda MacPherson can't decide whether to hug Zoe and Hammie to pieces or turn them into pieces in some less loving way. . . . Kirkman and Scott are virtuosi of the world of child-rearing." --Infodad.com

Under the sticky seats, next to the molten milkshakes, unreturned library books, and petrified french fries is where you'll probably find the hidden microphone. Those Baby Blues cartoonists undoubtedly planted it in your minivan, because how else could they come up with the ideas for their comic strip that mirror exactly what's going on in your life?

Fans and critics have been alternately checking under their seats and raving about the realism of the parenting experience depicted in Baby Blues for years. That realism is no accident (nor the result of illegal wiretaps). Parents themselves, cocreators Rick Kirkman and Jerry Scott have an infinite wellspring of material at their disposal. As writer Jerry Scott explains, "As long as kids keep having runny noses and wiping them on the drapes, we're in business."

This colorful treasury, Driving Under the Influence of Children, not only contains over 240 pages of award-winning Baby Blues comic strips, but also contains Baby Blues stickers, including a bumper sticker that should be affixed to nearly every minivan on the road.

This passage is taken straight from the DEA website?

Question by real answers: This passage is taken straight from the DEA website?
“A word about prohibition: lots of you hear the argument that alcohol prohibition failed—so why are drugs still illegal? Prohibition did work. Alcohol consumption was reduced by almost 60% and incidents of liver cirrhosis and deaths from this disease dropped dramatically (Scientific American, 1996, by David Musto). Today, alcohol consumption is over three times greater than during the Prohibition years. Alcohol use is legal, except for kids under 21, and it causes major problems, especially in drunk driving accidents.”

Our government must think we are retards. Saying Prohibition worked shows a complete lack of History knowledge.

“…marijuana is one of the safest, therapeutically active substances known to man.” – Judge Francis Young (DEA)
How long until people say enough of this bull?

For what Prohibition was set up to do, it did succeed. But it had a bad side effect, which would be mafia business.

People only hear about the hidden speak easies and the ones that did drink. They were still a vast minority over those that didn’t drink. And what Prohibition demonstrated to us is making something illegal doesn’t stop it; it makes it cost more and creates a very lucrative business for criminal empires.
